Interview with Ashantay Peters

Thanks for stopping by today Ashantay and Isla McAllister the heroine of your lasted book KILTLESS IN CAROLINA.     Kiltless in Carolina

Isla what do you do for a living?

I’ve just started my own photography business. I’m hoping to win the Highland Games photography contest – that would give me lots of free advertising. Oh, and the shots I took of Graeme piping in the mist should make my entry a shoe-in!

What was your childhood like? Happy? Moved around a lot?

My childhood was everything you’d expect with grandparents who moved to America from Scotland and a mother who supported anything Scots with a fanatical gleam in her eye. I suffered through Celtic dance, harp instruction and weaving classes. None of it took, though a kilt wearing teddy bear was my special friend for years.  I’m pretty sure he went Regimental.

What did you think of Graeme MacKay when you first met?

I thought he was just what I wanted for a weekend bed buddy. Then, I decided that not only was he an arrogant ass, he was also a bloody, sodding, fecking, whoring piper. I was right in all the best ways.

What is your most embarrassing moment?

My most embarrassing moment? Let’s see. Was it having a mother and young child catching Graeme and I making out in the women’s bathroom?Lying to my Gran about a magical heirloom she gave me that I immediately lost in Graeme’s hotel room when he stripped me? Or seeing my ex with his new girlfriend after I’d spent the night on a smelly (and collapsed) air mattress. Hmm. Kind of a toss-up.

Thanks, Kayden for inviting me to your blog today! Graeme says “hi” and anytime you want a special piping lesson, he’ll be happy to stop by.

Thanks Ashantay and Isla for stopping by. I might just have to take Graeme up on his offer.

Blurb

A private hotel room, shared fantasies, and a sexy man in a kilt…who could ask for a better weekend?

Inable to say no to family, photographer Isla McAllister agrees to attend the Highland Games under one condition—no roughing it. She wants a comfy hotel room where she can escape her family’s matchmaking schemes and avoid her ex-fiancé. Her plans go awry when she discovers her room has been given to a hot highlander with a smile that resurrects forgotten fantasies. Unfortunately, he’s a kilt-wearing piper, just like her ex.

After a bad breakup, Graeme MacKay plans on getting laid during the Games. He’s gone too long with his bagpipes as the only instrument getting any play. His number one criteria for the woman who’ll share his bed—she has to be a non-Scot. But when he clashes with a feisty McAllister who claims he stole her room, he throws caution to the wind and offers to share his room…and his bed.

Excerpt

The morning sun broke free of the mountainside. A flash of sunlight reflected from the buckles on his tall black leather boots. Okay, then. Bottoms up. The look she’d gotten had already juiced her in a delicious way resulting, probably, without orgasmic satisfaction. Still, a girl could look.

Her glance moved from calves pushing against boot leather, telling her he had muscles molding the boots rather than the other way around. As he walked, his warrior style tartan kilt swung around his knees, reminding her there was more to this vision than painfully knobby knees.

Too bad his furry sporran hid the best parts. She knew about sporrans and his was one big ass bit of luggage.

Shaking her head, she continued her avid scan over well-muscled arms that appeared self-made rather than gym-created. Long fingers holding his ten pounds of pipes to his side. A broad, lightly haired chest. How had she not noticed he played sans shirt? Must be one hot-blooded dude to come out shirtless in air better fit for a meat locker.

She shivered, anxious for him to move closer and for a look at the face of this Celtic god with a tribal armband tattoo on his left bicep and a fierce dragon at his right shoulder. He gaze moved higher and…no…oh, God. Mr. Handsome. Her libido crashed and burned. No survivors.

  1. I’ve read “Kiltless in Carolina” and would personally take Graeme up on any offers he cares to make. A big, studly Scotsman (and a musician, no less!) who’s shed his kilt? Who would be crazy enough to hesitate? Great interview, ladies!

  2. Oh my gosh! Loved the interview, ladies! Congrats and all the best with your new book, Ashantay! I’m off to go grab my copy. 🙂
