Featured Author Marie Tuhart

Today I’m featuring Marie Tuhart and her story Highland Dom which is in Passionate Cravings an Erotic Romance Book Sampler.

Are you in control of your characters or do they control you?Passionate Cravings

I would say most of the time its 50/50, but occasional they run off with the story

What drew you to the characters in this story?

Well, this was a call from The Wild Rose Press for their Real Men Wear Kilts program. I was intrigued and began to build characters around the premise that the male lead must wear a kilt somewhere in the book.

What is your favorite punctuation mark and why?

I really don’t have a favorite punctuation mark, I do tend to use comma’s a lot even if they’re not needed.

Could you tell us a about Highland Dom?

Sexual education professor and dominant Cameron McMillan has had his eye on the perf5.000x8.000.inddsubmissive, sexy cafe owner since she settled in his hometown four years ago, but he was already in a relationship. But that fell apart, and after soothing his heart while teaching at the University in Scotland, he’s back. Cameron is ready to see if Kristen is interested in acting on the sexy words she whispered to him at his farewell party. He doesn’t want to wait another day to introduce her to the world of BDSM…if she’s willing.

Kristen Caldwell never thought Cameron would act on her whispered invitation to tie her up and spank her…liquor and him being an ocean away had made her brave. But he has returned, and she’s tentative but ready to explore her kinky side despite past failures with other partners. The sexy and dominate professor might be just what she needs in the bedroom, though she worries about what others will think if she’s seen with him. Will a relationship with Cameron put her successful business at risk?

Things start out great, but Kristen’s fears and shadows in her past rear their ugly head, threatening more their relationship. She has to decide whether to stand up for what she wants or run…again.

Would you share an excerpt?

“Look at me.” His command was just as firm as his last. When their gazes met, he let out a breath. “How much do you know?”

“You volunteer at the local BDSM club, and teach sexual health at the university.” Her voice was soft and low.

“Yes, but how much do you know about the lifestyle?” Was she really interested? It was hard to tell.

“A bit.” She squirmed in her chair. “This isn’t the place we should be talking about this.”

Cam glanced around the café; no one was here, yet. And his sister was keeping to the kitchen. “No one is here. Tell me.”

“I…” Her gaze dropped, and she shook her head. “Not here.” Her voice was stronger. “I won’t risk my business.”

Someone walked by the café, and Cam shifted in his seat. “Meet me for dinner tonight.”

“I have to bake tonight.”

“I’ll bring dinner here, but we are going to talk.” Cam stood up and circled behind Kristen as someone walked into the café. He leaned down and whispered in her ear, “Because I can’t wait to tie you to my bed. Tease you. Torment you. And take you.” Cam straightened, turned, and strode out the café door.

Author Interview with Nancy Fraser

Today I am so excited to feature Nancy Fraser. I’m a big fan of her books. Thanks for stopping by.

My first questions is are you in control of your characters or do they control you?

LOL … those sneaky little buggers take me all over the place before finally settling down into a smooth rhythm. However, in the end, I am the boss (snicker) and they do what they’re told.

What drew you to the characters in this story?

Scottish culture amuses me. From the bagpipes and fiddles, to the Highland games/dancing, to the strange food. Yes, I’ve eaten Haggis. I didn’t enjoy it, but I ate it to please my late father-in-law. I wanted to create a more modern version of the Scottish culture and take it out of Scotland and drop it into a New England location that still celebrates the best of their heritage.

And now my favorite question. What is your favorite punctuation mark and why?

Much to my editor’s chagrin, the ellipses. Without a doubt, the ability…unhampered by convention…to stop my thoughts mid process is always a winner!!

Your book Kilty Pleasures is featured in Passionate Cravings, An Erotic Sampler. Could you share a bit about your story.

Why yes.

When Ronan MacAlister returns to Glencoe, Maine to see to the affairs of his late uncle, Passionate Cravingshe’s immediately reminded of why he’s stayed away. The small town is definitely not his cup of tea, and he can’t wait to settle the estate and be done with the cold winters. The only bright spot is the feisty farm manager, Aileen. All grown up now and far from the shy and reserved girl from his childhood, she exudes a steamy sexuality that has Ronan and his unruly body on full alert.

Aileen MacDougall had a huge crush on Ronan when she was a teenager, content to adore him from afar whenever his family came to Glencoe for a visit. Now he’s back, and although the circumstances are less than ideal, she’s eager to find out if her fantasies can live up to reality. But he holds the key to the future of Glencoe in his hands as well as her own hopes and dreams.

Can being trapped together in a remote cabin during a freak snowstorm melt his heart?

Could you share an excerpt from Kilty Pleasures?

Ronan pushed the last letter into place atop the triple word square. “Reticent. Tacking on to your word and utilizing the ‘e’, that’ll be another eighty-six points for me.”perf5.000x8.000.indd

“Nice play. Too bad you’re still forty points behind.”

He shot her a glare, followed by what he hoped was his most lascivious grin. “You know what would make this more interesting?”

“Let me guess, Strip Scrabble.”

“I was going to say Nude Scrabble, but I’m willing to work for it.”

“I bet you are. Why don’t we put the game away and go to bed? It is after midnight.”

He gathered his remaining game pieces and dumped them into the storage pouch. “I’ll go light a few candles, maybe take a quick shower.”

She nodded and then stood, gathering up the game board and box in her hands. “When you come out of the shower you should put the kilt back on.”

“Hmm…kinky. I like it. What will you be wearing?”

“A smile.”

Featured Author Barbara Edwards

https://barbaraedwardscomments.files.wordpress.com/2016/12/fea358_ad3062b300bf4872a1b30fb743d694e6mv2-3.jpg

Annie’s Heart was the result of a dream I had about living on the Kansas plains after the Civil War ended. I researched the area and found the hardships settlers faced to be overwhelming. I was surprised so many not only survived, but thrived. Annie is a strong woman with too many problems, but she is a survivor.

I hope you take this opportunity to read about her.

Blurb:

Only two coins and a gold pendant heart separate widowed ANNIE MOSS from disaster. The fields need to be plowed, the barn repaired and food stored for the winter, but she is alone and afraid. Her dream of a home for her children hangs from the promise of a wandering man to keep moving on, a man she has no reason to trust.

TRACE RANDOLPH has lost everything except his honor, so when a desperate ANNIE saves his life he knows he must pay his debt, even if it means marrying her. The only promise he makes is to leave before the winter snows. A promise he finds impossible to keep.

Excerpt:

Trace wiped his forehead with the back of his hand and hefted another bundle of shingles https://barbaraedwardscomments.files.wordpress.com/2015/08/scan00011.jpg?w=198&h=300onto his shoulder. The sweat dripped off him and he knew he smelled like an old goat. He wondered if Annie had noticed, or if he were the only one suffering from this itch. His mouth was parched and he made a note to purchase more mints when he visited town. A blister burned on his heel. And work shoes. His high-heeled boots weren’t designed for doing farm chores.

He planned on taking a quick dip in the creek later to wash away his ripe odor. The scent of lavender, light and delicate as the woman herself, filled his head. Annie stood behind him. He turned. She smiled and held out a dripping glass of water. Nodding his thanks, he swallowed the drink with pleasure. He wiped his mouth with the back of his hand and her blue eyes flicked from his fingers to his mouth.

“When do you expect to be done?”

A longing to touch her seared him like a hot poker. Trace jerked his gaze from her mouth to eye the rising sun and gathering clouds. He gauged the daylight hours left.

“Maybe by tonight. It looks like rain, and I hope to have it completed so you won’t be inconvenienced again.”

Her fingers trembled slightly when she held out her hand for the empty glass. His gaze darted to her face. She blushed at his bold stare and stepped back.

“I’m sure I never implied–”

“No, you didn’t, but I have eyes in my head. You need your privacy. I intend to get Digger’s bunk ready as well as my own.”

She blushed a color reminiscent of the climbing roses in his mother’s garden. He realized she was embarrassed by his reference to sleeping arrangements. He was enchanted by her sweet reaction. A woman so innocent shouldn’t be the mother of two children.

Her gaze dropped to the ground as she hugged the glass to her breasts. The dripping condensation soaked into the fabric. She didn’t notice the wet material clinging to her soft outline, but he did. Heat pulsed low in his groin. He longed to trace the outline of dampness with his mouth.

“I need to go into town. Would you like to come?” Trace didn’t know where the suggestion sprang from, but Annie’s eyes sparkled with anticipation, then dimmed.

“But we have chores to…”

“Let Digger do them,” he interrupted.

She hesitated. Cackling laughter followed by a whoop of excitement broke the silence stretching between them. Annie gave him a shaky nod before heading back toward the house.

Trace cursed under his breath as he watched the sweet sway of her hips when she climbed the shallow steps to the porch. Annie was soft and curvy in all the right places. She cast him a quick glance before darting inside.

Review:

”… Barbara Edwards creates a romance that proves life is about surviving disaster. Growing back stronger, and most of all, the courage to love.” **** (four stars), Gerry Benninger, Romantic Times Magazine

Bio:

I’m Barbara Edwards and a native New Englander. I’m a graduate of the University of Hartford with a Master’s degree in Public Administration. I write poetry for myself and novels when I need to tell a longer tale. I’m fascinated by the past so naturally turned to writing historical romance. The dark paranormal stories evolve from nightmares. The romance comes from my belief in people’s basic goodness and longing for love.

I lived in Florida for several years and am past president of the Central Florida Romance Writers and a member of Romance Writers of America.

When I returned to Connecticut, I founded the Charter Oak Romance Writers, a Chapter of Romance Writers of America, along with several close friends
My husband is a retired Police Sergeant. We share an interest Civil War re-enacting and travel the Eastern states to participate in events. I love visiting museums, galleries and battle sites, gathering information for my stories.

I taught Romance Writing at Manchester Community college for three years.

I’m fond of gardening and growing antique roses with limited success.

Most of my exercise is when my Belgian Shepherd, Keeno, demands a walk.

Interview M. Tasia from the BOYS OF BRIGHTON series.

Today I’m interviewing M. Tasia from the ‘Boys of Brighton’ series. The 2nd book in the series ‘Sam’s Soldiers’ is what we’ll be discussing today.

“So Sam, you’re from the little town in Brighton, Texas. What do you do for a living there?”sams-soldiers-final-cover-002

“I’m an ER nurse at Brighton General Hospital,” Sam brushed a stray red curl out of his face and continued. “I’ve always wanted to help others and nursing is on the front lines helping every patient that comes in.

“What is your favorite food?”

“Chicken Parmigiana with pasta, Caesar salad and garlic bread. Dante is a master at that dish.”

“What did you think of Dante and Spider when you first met them?”

“Actually, I thought they were both insane; drop dead gorgeous, but insane. They made me an offer I didn’t want to resist, so I didn’t.”

“Do you believe in love at first sight?”

“No, but lust, oh yah! Love comes later, once you discover who they really are, their quirks, likes and dislikes, things you love about them and the things that drive you nuts. You have to see to the core of that person or persons before you can actually say you love them.”

“Please describe both Dante and Spider with one word.”

“I can only think of one word for both, ‘Mine’.”

“Thanks for visiting with me today.”

BLURB:

As an emergency room nurse at Brighton General, Samuel Mason spends most of his days caring for the sick and injured, and his nights alone. Until now.

Jack “Spider” Forrester and Dante Snow have arrived. Retired from the Army, they provide protection to those in need. They’ve come to Brighton to guard Sam’s cousin from a dire threat, but it’s Sam’s world they turn inside out. Jack wears his heart on his sleeve but is no pushover, and Dante is scarred from a past he’d sooner forget. They two are partners in all things, from the bedroom to the office to the street, and they want Sam to join them…for as long as they’re in town. But there is danger ahead, and not just from the type of men these skilled, muscled heroes have sworn to take down. The danger of falling in love.
